Exchange 2007 Calendar Meetings Randomly Dissappearing
Some of our users have been experiencing calendar items randomly disappearing from their calendars. Single event meetings, reoccuring meetings, etc.. I've tried removing my antivirus software (temporarily) to see if that was the culprit. I'm currently on SP2. I receive the following errors in Event Viewer: Event 8263, EXCDO The recurring appointment expansion in mailbox "User" has taken too long. Some recurring appointment instances may not be visible at this time. Event 8217, EXCDO The processing of the recurring appointment with the subject "" in mailbox: "User" failed with error code 0x80004005. Event 8208, EXCDO Calendaring agent failed with error code 0x8004010a while expanding recurring appointments. Any help would be greatly appreciated. We've been experiencing this issue since we've been on Exchange 2007 for about a year.

Hi, The Event 8263 is logged when Microsoft Exchange Server cannot save a repeating appointment that has a duration of more than two years (730 days). The subject of the appointment and the mailbox name is specified in the event description. To resolve this issue, please delete the appointment and re-create it with duration of less than two years (730 days). Thanks AllenAllen Song

Well I've almost got the same problems here. Lost meetings, appointments most of which are not reoccuring. The problem is that I cannot find the erroneous appointment becuase it is not specified in the event and the only event I'm receiving is EXCDO: 8263. This is on Exchange 2007 SP3 update rollup 2. My event description looks like this: The recurring appointment expansion in mailbox <username> has taken too long. Some recurring appointment instances may not be visible at this time. Thats it. How am I supposed to be able to find the troubled appointment? It's really anoying because the whole calendar function has become unreliable for my exchange users. Thanks, Bart
