Exchange 2007 CCR backup recommendations
I have completed setting up my exchange 2007 environment using CCR on windows 2008. I now need to get backup and restores working before I move users over. I will probably be using Netbackup 6.5.4 with the exchange agent plugin. Is the a good 3rd part tool. I want to accomplish the followingMy goal is to get GRT working.I want to be able to restore a file from the database if necessary. If this is no possible with the product backing up the databases and using RSG would be ok. I am currently using backup exec 11d but I am sure this will not work on 2007.I tested windows backup that comes with 2008 and it works ok but I don't think this would be a good final solution.Any thoughts or recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks,

Personally, I see no need for GRT functionality. Note that GRTis a vendor supported solution and not directly supported by Microsoft. With deleted item retention and the RSG, I dont think you'll find any need to use the GRT solution. As for 3rd party recommendations, that is really your preference. BavkupExec is a solution that many choose. NetBackup is probably not as popular simply because its usually behind on Exchange support and is typically used when an org has purchased the entire NetBackup suite.

Thanks. I have been playing with RSG and it seems much improved. Just have to convince others because they have been using Bricks Level for a very long time. I will probably end up with netbackup because its an enterprise product and will be used to backp may products.
