Exchange 2007 CAS application pools and web sites do no start after rebooting
Sorry if this has been posted, but the search function is not working for me?? I have an Exchange 2007 SP1 client access server with upate rollup 2. Every time the server is rebooted the web site is in a stopped status and the application pools are stopped as well. After starting the application pools the web site (default web site) starts too. Otherwise it is solid as a rock, and no error logs are generated that would indicate a problem, at least none that i can tell....Anybody have a solution? Thanks in advance! Steve

Sorry for the late reply, the email alert went to the wrong address. But yes, both services are set to automatic and both start. But the application pools do not...Are there any services other than these that should start beforehand in order to start the app pools? Thanks, Steve

I thought no other service need to check in this case. Since we are lacking information about why application pool stopped, I suggest you check whether some application log related to W3SVCin the event viewer. if there is, please let me knowthe event ID andlog informaiton Meanwhile, here is a KB article may address your concern. http://support.microsoft.com/?id=895976 Regards, Jason

Hi Jason, Just to clarify further - After a reboot (say for, applying a patch that requires a reboot) is the only time this occurs. Fortunately, I have had no problems, AFTER i manually start the application pools and website immediately following the reboot. The websites and app pools always work perfectly until another patch requires a reboot. It's not the end of the world for me, I have changed GPO for this machine not to auto-reboot after installs, just an annoyance.... Thanks, Steve
