Hi everyone, I need to move an E2007 to new hardware and am thinking to use the /M:RecoverServer switch. It has only CAS role installed, E2007 SP3 on W2003 R2 SP2. Can I install Windows 2008 R2 on the new hardware first and then run setup.com/M:RecoverServer? Or it has to be the same OS? Could someone please let me know? Thank you in advance, Eric

Hi Setup /m:RecoverServer cannot be used across operating systems. A server that was originally running Windows Server 2003 can be recovered only on Windows Server 2003, and a server that was originally running Windows Server 2008 can be recovered only on Windows Server 2008.
