Exchange 2007 Autodiscover issues
Hi I was hoping someone may be able to advise on my situation. I have an Exchange server 2007 and I'm having trouble getting the Autodiscover records to work from outside the organisations domain. I have run the Exchange connectivity analyser and it passes these tests. The following urls are in the UCC : servername.domain.comexchange.domain.commail.domain.comautodiscover.domain.com These all point at the Firewall for the Exchange server. When I try to create an outlook profile from outside of the organisation it will fail to pick up the mail settings and displaying the unable to connect to encrypted connection, Trying to connect to unencrypted connection also fails. They only way I can connect from outside the organisation would be to set up the connection manually. Add the Outlook anywhere settings in with exchange proxy server via Outlook. I have tried to setup the accounts on an iphone and HTC Android phone and can get them connected but it takes a bit of manipulation as I do get an error on my phone. Have tried it on another iPhone and it connects straight away. iphone with issues : ios 4.35 iphone connects without issue : ios 5.3 What can I look at to try and resolve the issue as I am a bit lost. Thank you for taking the time to read and respond. Best Regards Gavin

Gavin, Are you using self-signed certificate or trusted third party one? Self-signed certificate will fail for the outlook anywhere when you try autodiscoverRegards from ExchangeOnline | Windows Administrator's forums

Hi Gavin, Can you run a test account through the Microsoft site and confirm what errors exist with Outlook Anyware settings? http://exrca.com/

Hi Philip The cert is a trusted third party, signed with a root CA. I think the issue might be related to this : The internal domain for the company is a .com (Not best practice but inherited) A webserver hosts their domain companyname.com at a seperate datacentre to the exchange server. The autodiscover analyser passes the tests because it's testing autodiscover.companyname.com which resolves to the exchange server. If I manually go to the address and authenticate with a username I do get this response in IE 9 Errorcode 600 <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> -<Autodiscover xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/exchange/autodiscover/responseschema/2006"> -<Response> -<Error Id="78949427" Time="12:20:24.7918694"> <ErrorCode>600</ErrorCode> <Message>Invalid Request</Message> <DebugData/> </Error> </Response> </Autodiscover> The analyser does however fail on companyname.com/autodiscover/autodiscover.xml which doesn't exist on their webserver.
