Exchange 2007 - aren't transaction (log) suppose to clear after full backup?
Hello, Aren't log/transaction files suppose to clear/delete itself after a full backup? I still see a bunch of logs after a full backup. Is it safe to manually delete it? Thank you in advance

They are but you need to troubleshoot the backup. You can delete the logfiles and then do an /mh but what are you going to do in 24 hours? Same thing? Hardly scalable. Exchange 2007..... Are you running LCR/CCR/SCR at all? Have you ever tried and failed to configue it or did a predecessor ever have a go? What product are you using for the backup and what happens if you just get Windows to run the backup? "Microsoft_Moron" wrote in message news:9fe321fb-4838-4315-b10b-1f68d46ebcbc... Mark, Very good question.... Yes, my boss turned on LCR, but I don't think it's working correctly. I'm using BackupExec 2010 for backup. The problem is when I tried to restore a message through BackupExec, it tries to mounts the entire mail store (260GB), and I don't have enough disk space to accommodate this. That's when I noticed the log files aren't being purged. By the way, this is our test server. I've NO prior experience with Exchange 2007, and my knowledge of Exchange 2003 is limited. Thanks for your reply.
