Exchange 2007 - MSExchangeAL 8026
Last night, I removed a DC that my Exchange 2007 server saw as the preferred LDAP server. When updating an account from the Exchange 2007 console this morning, I got a MSExchangeAL LDAP Operations error, event 8026. I did a search and the suggestions were for Exchange 2000/2003 and running the Recipient Update service. Anyway to update the LDAP pointer on the Exchange 2007 server without impacting users during the day? Thanks Ron

Have you restarted the System Attendant service?

Hi The Recipient Update Service is configured to use a Windows domain controller that was demoted. When the Recipient Update Service tries to query the Windows domain controller for an update, it cannot contact it. Change both of those entries to another DC/GC - usually the same one. You will need to restart System Attendant for the change to take effect.Dinesh
