Exchange 2007 -Import contacts from CSV file
Hello, I have a csv file with 1000 contacts (external email addresses) I want to import them into Exchnage 2007 so that all users can send emails to them. These 1000 contacts dont belong to my organisation, ie I dont want to have them as users in my Active Directory or create mailboxes for them in my Exchnage server, they are just people we want to communicate with. What is the best way to do this?

Import them as Windows Contacts. They won't have any security context, and they won't have mailboxes.

Thank you but exactly do you mean by "windows contacts"? What is the procedure of importing a window contact?

If you want to send the emails to the external email addresses, you must consider creating mail enabled contacts using the email addresses in the CSV file.

You can use the cmdlets in exchange 2007 to create bulk mail enabled contacts. New-MailContact
