Exchange 2007 (SP1) SNAP-in not showing first storage group
Hi I am having a weird problem, but I am not sure whether it is weird or known issue.I am able to send and received email and all my existing mailboxes are working as before without any issue. But in exchange management console I am not able to view my first storage group under Database Management and receiver connector under hub transport. Because of this I am not able to create new user account via Exchange management console , since it is searching for the first storage group and corresponding database. Existing users are able to receive and send email and able to view their stored email from the mailbox store , can anyone please help me out to sort this problem.Cheers, siva

Hello Siva, What is theoutputyou get in EMS if you run Get-MailboxDatabase & Get-ReceiveConnector? Do you get any error in event log? Run ExBPA andcheck if you get any error... http://exbpa.com/ Are you able to see those if you create custom management console? References on Exchange 2007 console... Hi Amit, Thanks for the quick response. I am getting following weird error from Baseline analyzer. The 'Services' string type value located in 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Setup\Services' registry key is missing or inaccessible. The Microsoft Exchange Information Store service will not start. As a result, all services that depend on this service will not be able to start. Please visit http://support.microsoft.com/kb/285116 for more information. But my IS service is running without issue and there is no complient from users regarding mailbox access. Existing users are able to access their mailbox with any problem. Siva

Hi Sive, This is irrelevant to your problem and you would be getting because the account which you are using to run ExBPA doesnt have permission on the registry mentioned in error or not a member of local admin to access it. Whats the result of other tests which I asked in previous post?

Hi Siva, Please use the link provided by Amit to see if you can see it in a customized management console. Please also let us know if there is any related error in event log. You also can try to install EMC on a client PC and see if it can work. Thanks, Elvis

Hi Elvis, for the late reply. Don't worry about that. It was due to the permission problem. Everything sorted out. cheers, siva

I have the same problem. When I try to add a user that is in active directory the first storage group is not showing. In fact the database selection llist is empty. You say that was a permission problem. Can you tell me how to fix this?
