Exchange 2007: Deleted Items Limit
Hello all, Please keep in mind that I am a novice at administrating an Exchange Server so I apologize if this is an obvious question. In the Exchange Management Console, we have our Mailbox Database (First Storage Group) deletion settings set to delete items in the Deleted Items folder after they are 7 days old. This, however, is not happening. Users have items in their Deleted Items folder from months (or years) ago. I checked to make sure the users are attached to the proper database, which they are. I did notice in the Exchange Management Console under Server Configuration>Mailbox>Database Management, the First Storage Group has a Copy Status of Disabled. If I enable this, will it enforce whatever policies that are set in the properties of that database? Thank you in advance for your help.Matt Georgetti

Deleted Items Retention refers to those items in the dumpster, not to those items in the deleted items folder. ( I beleive this is the setting you are referring to) http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/MF022.html http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995946(EXCHG.80).aspx
