Exchange 2007, Accidentally Destroyed.
I'm currently running two Exchange 2007 VM's, one in the head office and 2nd that we use SCR to replicate to. As I need to increase disc capacity I've added some more HD's to my RAID array and extended the drive accidentally adding in space from another array. No problem I thought, I'll just delete the space allocated from the other array. Opps, I've now deleted the array with my replicated Exchange server on it with no way to recover. The loss of the 2nd Exchange server isn't a major problem for me as we were going to move to DoubleTake and allow that to handle replication. But is there a way of tidying up the AD so the destroyed Exchange server doesn't show up and cause any grief, or could I install a 2nd Exchange at my backup site using the same name? Thanks, (an embarrassed) Andrew.

You should be able to just re-install. DO NOT DELETE THE EXCHANGE SERVER ACCOUNT FROM THE DOMAIN. Reset the account, and install Exchange using the /Disasterrecovery switch. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa998848(EXCHG.80).aspx

Thank you for your reply. As a result of this I was able to find http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Configuring-Exchange-Server-2007-Preview-Chapter9-Disaster-Recovery-Exchange-Server-2007.html which gives a little more detail. Am I right in thinking that if I follow this procedure I essentially have a blank Exchange server to which I can replicate my main server to? Thanks, Andrew.

You should essentially have your original server back, but you will need to re-create the directory structure for your SCR replicas, and re-seed.
