Exchange 2003 to exchange 2003 enterprise
Hi all, We are fast approaching the 75gb limit of Exchange 2003 Standard (65gb). I am looking at pricing up Exchange 2003 upgrade for my customer. I was wondering if any of you could provide any input on the following: Is it better to go to a newer version (bare in mind all 2003 standard servers that cannot be upgraded at this time) What is the licensing path that needs to be followed here. Exchange 2003 Server Enterprise license plus cal upgrade? Anything else? Thanks

Hi I would go for Exchange 2010, If they don't require any HA they are fine with standard edition of Exchange One server? 1 Win std license, 1 Exc std lic, x user CALs (standard, if you should use online archive it req additional ECALs) http://www.microsoft.com/exchange/2010/en/us/licensing.aspxJonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Hi, There is no Update from exchange 2003 Std to Enterprise(i.e. it not like that u just change the cal & it become enterprise version) here is the article : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/170280 As Jonas say you should go for 2010 instead & for licensing follow this site: http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/default.aspx Ripu Daman Mina | MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging
