Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration plan - AD Preparation steps?
I'm planning to migrate Exchange 2003SP2 to Exchange 2010SP1
I have an empty forest root domain, PARENT_DOM, and a child domain, CHILD_DOM. The CHILD_DOM have Exchange 2003SP2 running.
My Preparation steps are as follow: Please confirm if these are is correct:
1. Log on to Windows 2008 R2 root DC with
EnterprizeAdmin and SchemaAdmins rights (preferable the one that has Schema role)
2. Insert Exchange 2010SP1 media in DVD ROM.
3. Open elevated command prompt
4. Navigate to Exchange media
5. Type the following commands for each domain and press ENTER
<media>\:>Setup /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions:PARENT_DOM
<media>\:>Setup /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions:CHILD_DOM
WAIT 15 MINUTES FOR REPLICATION TO COMPLETE
6. Type the following command and press ENTER
<media>\:>Setup /PrepareSchema
WAIT 15 MINUTES FOR REPLICATION TO COMPLETE
7. Type the following command and press ENTER
<media>\:>Setup /PrepareAD
WAIT 15 MINUTES FOR REPLICATION TO COMPLETE
8. Type the following command and press ENTER
<media>\:>Setup /PrepareDomain:CHILD_DOM
WAIT 15 MINUTES FOR REPLICATION TO COMPLETE
9. continue with Exchange Installation....
Will these steps be sufficient to prepare the Forest/Domain for my Exchange 2010SP1 migration
Thanks in advance

When I did migration from Server 2003 to 2008, it took 9 months of research, testing, and planning. Then, the implementation. Likewise, you should stick to some sort of process. Consider a lab environment prior to your migration.
