Exchange 2003 support
Hi - Running exchange 2003 enterprise on windows 2003 enterprise. Single server, approximately 850 mailboxes, storage is a DAS expansion box - SAS RAID. Server is extremely stable, and we self-support. On to the question. We're trying to plan our upgrade path, and considering the stability, and the fact the current version perfectly fits our relatively basic needs, i don't think we'll upgrade for a few years. In the past when we've encountered an issue with either OS, SQL, or Exchange, something we can't quickly fix on our own, we'll pick up the phone and gladly pay MS their pay per incident support fee - i believe it's about $400/incident. Does anyone know who long MS will do the pay per incident for exchange 2003 - is it 4/8/2014? Thanks. Danny

You can find the answer to that in Microsoft's end-of-life support page. I don't know offhand where it is, but I'm sure you can search for it and find it as fast as I can.Ed Crowley MVP "There are seldom good technological solutions to behavioral problems."

The life-cycle web site explains what is available during the various phases. http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifepolicy Exchange 2003 is now in extended support. Although there is so much more to the product's suitability than just the stability. Third party support, hardware support, OS support, security issues, meeting the needs of the users. Personally given the size of the user base I would be looking to migrate to a later version. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources
