Exchange 2003 sp2 Custom Fields?
Morning Guys, My org is running Windows 2003sp2 with Exchange 2003 sp2. We have custom applications that does automatic emailing. We encountered a problem whereby we are not sure if the mail was sent out and are investigating if their are any custom fields that can be used in Exchange 2003 sp2 to store information pertaining to whether the mail was sent or not. We are hoping to avoid them having to go to the Exchange Admins for them to verify the mail was sent. Any and all suggestions welcome.

Hi, If the application is using IIS to send mail then it can be tracked through IIS log of the system which is sending the mails.Ripu Daman Mina | MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging

if it is already a custom application, why not put in some more code and enable delivery notification and scan the source mailbox for the deliverynotification to verify? usually if you are seding emails internally, it will get delivered in less than 10 seconds (unless u have a very bad networks). so you can scan the source mailbox for the subject which was sent and for the delivery report message class message class for this is "REPORT.IPM.Note.DR" so scan for this message class and then the subject which you are sending, so u can verify if it is delivered.Thiyagu | MCTS/MCITP - Exchange 2007 | MCSE 2003[Messaging] | http://www.myExchangeWorld.com. Most of these mails are to external customers for various test results.

Hi, If the system that is having the application has public IP it will automatically send the mail from its own IP, kindly confirm if it uses IIS or not, is case of IIS you can enable IIS logs & we can track from there.Do explain the scenario. Ripu Daman Mina | MCSE 2003 & MCSA Messaging

Hi Guys, Currently the program uses the following notation IP: 192.168.0.1:25 username: user password: password I'm assuming when you mentioned IIS you were taking about http://192.168.0.1/exchange. Hopefully with this info I have made things clearer
