Exchange 2003 on Windows 2000 to Exchange 2003 on Windows 2003 Migration
We have a pdc thats windows 2000 we also have a bdc thats windows 2000 with exchange 2003 installed. What we are trying to do is migrate the exchange 2003 server to a new server with windows 2003 and exchange 2003 installed. We would also like to keep the same server name and ip address. Will we be able to keep this new server as the bdc? Will we need to upgrade our pdc(win2k) to 2003 to be compatible with the new server bdc (win2k3)? Some guidelines for this migration would be great. thanks.

there is no longer a pdc or bdc since nt 4. this link details how to updrade your domain controllers to 2003. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325379 As far as moving exchange to a different server and keep the same name and IP, these links detail the process. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822945 http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124429(EXCHG.65).aspx Roy Mayo | MCTS • MCSE | USA
