Exchange 2003 is resending email multiple times.
I have nothing running that is scanning the server. I disabled the software 'Trend Micro' a couple weeks ago, in case this was the issue. Is there any software that i can purchase that will detect settings in Exchange that are incorrect? I am grasping for straws i know. John

Have you tried the MS Exchange Best Practices Analyzer for E2K3? That, at least, is free: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/exchange/bb288488.aspx I'm not sure it would help resolve your problem but it would report obvious problems, related or not.

John When it comes to AV products, I don't tend to trust "disabling" the product. It has to be removed and the server rebooted before I am confident it is not involved. The email is being stored or blocked somewhere as it is being resubmitted. If the issue was external to Exchange, like the firewall then I wouldn't always expect to see the email being resubmitted at the Advanced Queueing stage, it would happen later on. The standard question has to be what has changed? Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.

Our Exchange 2003 Server is resending emails, (not all of them just a select few that changes from day to day) multiple times. I cannot figure out what is causing this. a sample of a log from the Message Tracking Center is shown below. I sure appreciate any help that can be provided. John

That is usually due to interference. The most common cause is AV scanning something it shouldn't be. I have also seen it caused by other third party tools on the server, a firewall scanning SMTP traffic etc. Simon.Simon Butler, Exchange MVP Blog | Exchange Resources | In the UK? Hire Me.
