Exchange 2003 hosting GAL issue
I am running a Exchange 2003 setup in a manually hosted environment (not Hosted Exchange). On our servers we are hosting multiple Exchange domains and access to addressbooks and messaging is controlled by user rights. Every customer (domain)has their own GAL and the default GAL has been deleted. GAL access is based on group membership and rights assigned to this group. My problem is: 1. When the user access his mailbox through local RPC he can ONLY see members of his own domain in the adressbook in Outlook (which is correct). 2. When the user access his mailbox through OWA he can ONLY see members of his own domain in the adressbook in Outlook (which is correct) 3. BUT when accessing his mailbox through RPC over HTTPS the user can see EVERY user in EVERY GAL (which is not correct) Does anyone know what I can do to prevent issue 3. from happening?

Hi, Do the users with rpc over http connection use Outlook in cached mode? If yes you need to look at the permissionson the offline address book. Leif

Hi Leif I fixed it myself. Had to regenerate offline addressbook for all my customers after a co-worker had made a test GAL where Authenticated users had List Contents and Open Address List. He also used a common search criteria so the test GAL contained all users in the domain. Thank you for your answer though! Stein
