Exchange 2003 has 14gb information store but only 2.2gb of mail in the mailboxes
I need to know is there a utility that can be used to see all the information in the information store. How would I go about getting at that data? Store properties for deletion are 30 days for items and 30 days for mailboxes. Thanks for any light
you can shine on this.Shannon

Thank you for the info. I think I need to clarify my question. I know how to remove the dead space etc. but I want to try and see what is recoverable of that 14gb. We think there is some data from an old employee that we may need. So is there a program
to open up the edb file and extract the files that are not being found in the individual mailboxes. Thanks again.Shannon

Hi ,
The 14 GB database will contain items in users mailboxes+Dumpster+Whitespaces. So if the items in users mailboxes is 2.2 GB than the rest should be Dumpster and whitespaces.
Do you want to extract the items stored in the dumpster?
You can use exmerge utility to export items from users mailboxes including the dumpster items. Check the below link on using exmerge.
