Exchange 2003 and 2007 coexistence: One or Two url ?
I will introduce Exchange 2007 in to Exchange 2003 organization. Do I need two url and two certificates or only one certificate. The way I understood: User that use URl like https://webmail.domain.com/Exchange and with there mailboxes on Exchange 2003, will be automatically redirected to : https://webmail.domain.com/Exchweb and when they log on, they are automatically redirected to https://webmail.domain.com/Exchange. Users with mailbox on Exchange 2007 servers, will be redirected to https://webmail.domain.com/owa, when they logon. The same is with actisync, and so on….Integrated Auth……. So, I do not use different url for Exchange 2003 and 2007.

Hi, Try and read this guide: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Implementing-Exchange-Server-2007-coexistence-Exchange-Server-2003.html Basically you need to access each webmail on a different URL since the two exchange version isn't compatible with serving each other. You are using different subfolders in the IIS, but you need to destinguis the FQDN as well. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

The Outlook Web Access URL that users have to use also depends on the location of the user’s mailbox. If the mailbox is located on an Exchange 2003 back-end server you must use the URL http://<servername>/Exchange. If the mailbox is located on an Exchange 2007 Mailbox server, you can use http://<servername>/owa or http://<servername>/Exchange. http://<servername>/ Url is automaticaly redirected on CAS server, so i need only one ssl certificate. That wat i was looking, with exchange 2010 there is different story.

The article i listed is for Exchange 2007 and Exchange 2003. Regarding certificates you can just have one as long as you make sure that both server names and url's are in the subject alternate name. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.
