Exchange 2003 SP 2, resending old emails after reboot
This past weekend I've experienced something very strange with Exchange Server. It first lost connection, then was rebooted, then somehow resent emails going back from 2 years ago. Also, the only thing that was done that was new, was that i backed up my BES database (but on a different sever) which i don't think would have anything to do with what happened, but you never know.I've been reading other forums and so far no luck.I am stumped and any input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!Viki

Hi, This could be caused by either antivirus or backup software locking the outgoing e-mails in the SMTP queue folder - located in the exchange install folder under VSI 1 Leif

There was nothing in the queue folder. All emails that were sent the other day were received by the recipients on the original day. Also, the time stamp stayed the same, if the email was originally sent October of 2007 it stayed that way.
