Exchange 2003 SMTP Connector unavilable
Hello, I have an Exchange 2003 server with te SMTP Connecor becoming unavailable quite often. I enabled logging but not really seeing anything in the application log. I did fine this article http://support.microsoft.com/kb/271996 but I am not sure why this would have started to happen reguarly in the last few weeks. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thnx tmiller

Hi Your smtp connector, is it for outgoing mail? Do you have any smtp log to post in here?Jonas Andersson MCTS: Microsoft Exchange Server 2007/2010 | MCITP: EMA 2007/2010 | MCSE/MCSA Blog: http://www.testlabs.se/blog

Yes the SMTP connector is for outgoing mail which connects to a smarthost (Zix server for mail encryption). This is one of the application log: On Master side, the following connector's linkstate is down. Process Id: 1576 Process location: C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\inetinfo.exe ConnectorDN: CN=mhyork.org,CN=Connections,CN=First Routing Group,CN=Routing Groups,CN=First Administrative Group,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=Memorial,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=mhyork,DC=org With the SMTP logs being so much info, I don't think it would be good to post it here. I could email you it. thnx, tm
