Exchange 2003 Cluster Evironment - MTA Queue Not Available
Hi all, I have a problem with MTA Queue in Exchange 2003 Cluster Environment. The queue in show has "Not Available". The service is running and I tried a MTAcheck. Restarting the service, the queue became avaiable for a couple of minutes but the return "Not Available". In EMS I see "EMS failed to retrieve queues for the X400 protocol (error code = 0x800706BB). Check the event log and verify that the required services are running" Eventvwr say: Event Type: Warning Event Source: MSExchangeIS Mailbox Store Event Category: MTA Connections Event ID: 2000 Date: 23/05/2010 Time: 7.52.50 User: N/A Computer: XXXXXXXXXX Description: Verify that the Microsoft Exchange MTA service has started. Consecutive ma-open calls are failing with error 3051. For more information, click http://www.microsoft.com/contentredirect.asp. Any ideas is appreciated! Thanks

You probably dont need the MTA service running. See the below link on how to disable if you are in a pure 2003 environment: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/810489 MTA Stacks service supportability guidelines for Exchange 2000 Server and Exchange Server 2003

Hi AndyD_, thank you for your reply. You are right, but I use MTA for a third party fax application than need X400. I have several cluster and I never had problem with MTA. All it's OK. I installed this new cluster and I found the problem, it's a fresh installed cluster. No migration or other.
