Exchange 2003 Auto Accept Agent on Exchange 2007 Mailboxes
Our company completely migrated to Exchange 2007 from Exchange 2003 some time ago. We have no Exchange 2003 servers in our environment any longer. It appears that when our resource mailboxes were migrated, the Auto Attendant Agent was not removed from the mailboxes prior to them being moved to Exchange 2007. As a result, the Auto Attendant Agent appears to somehow still be "running" on these migrated resources. Any resource that was migrated from Exchange 2003 cannot be configured in OWA's Resource Settings option page. We still get pop up messages when booking these resources stating that "The resources for the meeting were successfully booked" instead of the email back from theresource stating whether or not the resource was booked successfully. Is there any way to correct this problem post migration? Or is the only solution to create new resource mailboxes and delete the old ones?

Where are you seeing the message stating that the resource was successfully booked? In Outlook? The Auto Accept Agent was a server-side agent that does not have an E2K7 equivalent. So it is probably NOT working. There may be something within the properties of the mailbox, though, that still has some configuration from the old agent. Do you have a lot of resource mailboxes? If it is just a few mailboxes, you a probably much better off to export the calendars, delete the mailboxes, then recreate them.Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

Hi Jim,It is in Outlook that we see the popup message of the resources being successfully booked. This was the way the Auto Accept Agent in 2003 handled notifications. And it continues only on the resources that have been migrated. Unfortunately, we are talking about dozens of resources with many appointments, so I'm told that recreating is not an option we'll move forward with any time soon. The configurations that gets removed during the uninstall of the Auto Accept Agent within Exchange 2003: Is there a way to do this on these resources while running on Exchange 2007? (Either manually or scripted.)

Did you designate the mailbox as a resource once it was moved to E2K7? For example, if the resource is called "Conference Room 1". Did you convert it to a room resource by doing this?Set-Mailbox "Conference Room 1" -Type RoomYou can check to see which mailboxes are flagged as a conference room resource by running this command:Get-maibox | Where {$_.IsResource -eq $True}Jim McBee - Blog - http://mostlyexchange.blogspot.com

They are set as Room Mailboxes. I can see and configure all of the settings in the Resources Settings page in the Options area under OWA. It's just that none of those settings actually work, no matter what I put in there, since it is seemingly still using whatever settings were configured in the AAA under 2003.
