Exchange 2003 Address Book missing info
HiWe are having problems with the address list when viewed at the client, Outlook 2003 or 2007 (NOT cached). System is Exchange 2003 SP2.There may be more than one user affected but noticed with one so far. We have a contact created on the server. When viewed in ADUC his details are all fine. When doing a preview of the Address List (GAL) in Exchange System Manager all his details are fine.BUT, when viewed on the client, most fields, apart from his name, are blank - this includes all email addresses. His display name is also incorrect and seems to be in the X400/X500 format of /O= ... etc. But, as I said, on the server itself, this info is OK.I don't think it's an OAB problem as it shows up in non-cached clients.Any advice welcome. Thanks

Hi, First please try to test the issue via OWA. If we can not view the correct information for this contact, then please check the user information from ADSIedit.msc. Please check the value on the targetaddress and proxyaddress. More contact relaeted information to share with you,you can refer to Mike's post. Hi Thanks for replying. I've checked using OWA and the user details are OK - but I can't see the SMTP addresses in there anyway for any users. I've looked in adsiedit for the contact and the details are correct in there. It seems to be just Outlook clients - either 2003 (any service pack) or 2007 Thanks

I'd like to clarify the issue with you: Outlook client with online mode cannot have correct GAL, is that ture? That is strange. Please manually export GAL via LDAP to check if the information is correct. csvde -r "(objectClass=user)" -d "ou=test ou,dc=domain,dc=com" -l displayName, proxyAddresses -f c:\users.csv I'd like to know if information on users are correct. We need to clarify if the issue only occur to contact. Besides, how many exchange server in the network? How many domian contollers in the network? How did you add the contact? Moreover, please apply the latest update for outlook 2003 and outlook 2007. How to export GAL entries to an Outlook contacts folder http://support.microsoft.com/?id=238773 Regards, Xiu

Hi Thanks for your response. We have just deleted the contact and recreated and the info is now showing OK. There are actually a few thousand contacts which were imported from another Exchange system. It's just very strange that the information looked OK everywhere apart from on the clients. I just hope there aren't too many more with a problem which heven't been noticed yet or that this one doesn't have problems again. Thanks
