Exchange 2003 Activesync Not Sending Mail Outside Organization
We are having issues with mobile Exchange ActiveSync users being able to send e-mail outside of the organization. User can send internally just fine and externally through outlook and owa. They just cant send externally when connected via Activesync on their cell phones. There is no NDR and nothing is stuck in queue. We are using Exchange 2003 fully patched and service packed.Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

First, check that your receive connector will accept anonymous connections;Go tothe Exchange Management Console, go to Server Configuration and then Hub TransportSelect your Hub Transport server, and then you should see two Receive ConnectorsChoose the one named"Default HubTransportServerName" where HubTransportServerName is the host name of your Hub Transport server. Select propertiesOn the last tab (Permission Groups), check "Anonymous Users". If this scares you (and it should), return to the Network tab and enter IP addresses (or ranges of IPs) of all systems that are permitted to connect to your Hub Transport server.Second, once you have enabled anonymous connections, you need to make those anonymous connections actually work. Open the 2007 Shell, and type in Get-ReceiveConnector "Default HubTransportServerName" | Add-ADPermission -User "NT AUTHORITY\ANONYMOUS LOGON" -ExtendedRights "Ms-Exch-SMTP-Accept-Any-Recipient"Of course - replace "Default HubTransportServerName" with the name of your Receive connectorThis will then allow you to email outside of your own organization.

Hi, As you mentioned There is no NDR and nothing is stuck in queue, so I suggest you using message tracking center to confirm if the mail is submitted to Exchange server. Please also refer to the following article to rebuild a partnership and test the issue again. Steps to manually recreate the sync relationship on mobile devices synchronizing with Microsoft Exchange Server http://msexchangeteam.com/archive/2008/01/30/447971.aspx If the issue persists, please help me clarify the following questions: 1. Do it happen on all users or only one user? 2. You sync the mail via wireless or an cable? 3. Whats OS of your mobile phone? Thanks, Elvis
