Exchange 2003 ActiveSync and high RPC latency
Help! Our Exchange server is being hammered this week! This is a 2003 mailbox server. There is a frontend server, which is not suffering performance wise. We ended up disabling all mobile devices using ActiveSync and performance has been normal all day. Then, we started adding iPhone and Droid users back and monitoring RPC on the Exchange server. Performance hit the wall when we endabled an iPhone iOS 5.1 user who had their settings set to keep everything forever! Disabled that and set it to a week. Back to normal. Then, added a couple more users. There are a couple Droids added, and performance went in the tank again. Is there a way to limit how much access can come through OWA/OMA? Anything we can limit in the application pools? Thanks, Joel

Hi Joel, Based on my experience, the issue migt be caused by one or some user's configurtion. I'd suggest you verify user's mailbox, expecially that the user does not have excessive items in any common folder; Hope it is helpful. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support
