Exchange 2003 - deleting contacts from address lists
We currently have 1 Exchange Server 2003 at our site but it is part of a number of Exchange Servers all over the world. Specific to ours, we have a number of address lists for various suppliers and contacts. I have created 2 new lists lets say Williams 1 and Williams 2 , all contacts have been brought into them, but what I want to do now is delete certain contacts from these lists an only keep the ones I want. I am unsure how to do this. Also, I want to give 2 users permission to make all the changes to these lists - how do I do this. Thanks

Delete the contacts from AD. Ad is the repository for all the AD objects including contacts. you need to add these users to domain admins group for changes http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc728117(WS.10).aspxRaj

Surely if I delete from AD they will dissapear from address lists they are currently in and I do not want that. There are over 300 addresses and I only want 50 in one of the new address lists and 40 in the other. Also is there not a way to add to users to be able to add and delete contacts from these address lists when they are in Outlook 2003 and accessing the address books from them

It's hard to realize this function that give user access to update the address book in exchange 2003. You could try this way: 1.Add user account to domain admin group 2.Install the adminpak tools in client to manage the user information http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?displaylang=en&FamilyID=c16ae515-c8f4-47ef-a1e4-a8dcbacff8e3 3.Please add a OU to a new MMC console 4.Send the MMC console to user who has admin right Thanks, Richard Your expertise never fails to impress :)

Thanks for this, but the answer I really want is can a user actually update from Outlook, Tools Address Book - access the distribution list and then add from there or does it have to be done from the SD Thanks Sharon
