Exchange 2003 - Send email using different email address via RPC over HTTPS
Hi,I would like to know how to how to send an email using a "contact" instead of an account that has a mailbox. I'll give an example to make my question much clearer. I have 2 mail enabled accounts called Sales01 and Sales02. They each have an email called Sales01@abc.com and Sales02@abc.com respectively. I created a Sales@abc.com contact which have the Sales01 and Sales02 as members. Therefore, whenever I send email to Sales@abc.com, it will be forwarded to Sales01@abc.com and Sales02@abc.com. The problem that I have is I would like to make Sales01 and Sales02 to be able to send out or reply using Sales@abc.com .The way I had it working is that I created a dummy POP3 account which has the local host as the incoming mail server and the mail.abc.com as the outgoing mail server. Iset the email address as Sales@abc.com. Under More Settings on the Outgoing server tab, I used the Logon using and used the user's credential. So, when the user compose an email, he just needs to click on Account(below the send button) and select to send out usingeither the Exchange account(Sales01@abc.com) or the dummy POP3 account (Sales@abc.com). My question is, how do I do this on a RPC over HTTPS configured outlook. And/Or is there a better way of doing the above function that will also work on the RPC over HTTPS setting. My goal is having a Sales centralized email contact without having to create its own mailbox. Thanks for reading my post and hopefully you could give me some tips to get me moving. - Lex

Hi,I suggest you create a Public Folder and mail-enabled it, set it as Sales@abc.com, then give the send as permission to Sales01 and Sales02. And put the two accounts into to a group, and forward the email from Public Folder to the group. After that, the Sales02 or Sales02 configure own RPC over HTTPS client and can use the Sales@ab.com email address to send the email.ThanksAllen
