Exchange 2003 - Dial tone query
Hi We are running Exchange 2003 SP2 on Windows 2003 cluster. We're looking into DR processes and Dial Tone came up. As I understand, we're creating an empty database so that users can at least send/recv email whilst the Exchange admins recover the historical data in the background. Question - if the users are on cached mode, then initially they will be able to see all their old emails etc. Once they have synced with the new database, will all this data be removed? Or will it still be accessible? (Most of our users are on Outlook 2007 if it makes a difference)

Hi, The data will still be locally, but because you are creating a new database users gets a new mailbox guid and therefore will need to select working online or offline when starting Outlook. Working offline they can see their old e-mails - working online they can see all new mails. Leif
