Exchange 2003 - Additional Email Domain Issues
Hi, I'm having problems routing the new email domain through to the users, I am using a single server with Exchange 2003 SP2 on Server 2003 SP2 running GFI Spam Filter, Exclaimer, and Trend Micro, I have done the following: 1. Purchased the new domain name, and got the MX record pointing to our IP, (we do recieve the emails) 2. Added a new Recipient Policy to be the same as the Default + I have the new domain name added as an address, I have filtered it to apply to a group of users based on Custom Attribute 15, I have applied the Policy and the user accounts have been updated, I can see the new email address on their accounts When I send an internal email to the new address it works fine, however when I send an email to the new address from an external source all the emails get routed to my account rather than the users - I have tried this on 3 users so far with no luck. When I receive the email in the To: field it shows the correct user but it comes to me. All the users still receive their original emails without any issue. Also, when I send a email to an address that doesn't exist i.e. blah123@domainname.com it still comes through to me, however if I do this for our regular domain name it bounces back. About a year ago I setup a new email domain on this server and there were no problems, that one has since been removed though. Any help would be much appreciated, I'm sure its just something stupid I have done (or not done). Thank you

Either virtual server or smtp connector u must have given ur e-mail id to deliver NDR report.Just remove that one. Then check by sending mail.In receipient side u must receive error.Check what that error says. -bpara

Hi, have a look at your receive connectors as well . Regards. Shafaquat Ali.M.C.I.T.P Exchange 2007/2010, M.C.I.T.P Windows Server 2008, M.C.T.S OCS Server 2007 R2, URL: http://blog.WhatDoUC.net Phone: +923008210320

I checked the SMTP connector, there is no email address in there. If I send an email from say my hotmail account to my original domain with a wrong address i.e. c123orey@1stdomain.com I get the Unknown Users NDR to my hotmail account etc. If I do the same thing but send it to c123orey@2nddomain.com it comes through to my account, all @2nddomain.com emails regardless of whether they are right come through to my mailbox, how is that possible? My understanding was that Recipient Filtering is a global setting (I tried disabling and re-enabling it, no luck), so it should work across both domain names that are being hosted on the same Exchange server, am I wrong? I guess I have 2 problems: 1) All @2nddomain.com address are coming to my mailbox 2) Only the original domain name is rejecting wrong addresses Thank you

I tried using that site, nothing of any interest was reported. *edit* Actually after looking at this again I see that the problem is that they updated my MX record incorrectly, the providers server was forwarding all emails onto my account. Thanks for your help bpara.
