Exchange 2003 & Restrictions Question
We currently have an SMTP connector set up where all outbound mail is blocked. However, I am trying to get it where the users have permission to just send e-mail to one specific person @gmail.com. I once read up on how to do this, but I forgot. I created a contact in active directory, no luck there. If someone can guide me in the right direction it would be great. Thanks

There is no real, clean way to allow external mail to only one SMTP address in Exchange 2003. At least not out of the box without using a 3rd party SMTP gateway or scripting something.

How about Exchange 2007? We already have the licenses, just looking for an excuse not to upgrade because at this time of the year I am very busy. But, if you can get me instructions for doing this with Exchange 2007, I will upgrade it as soon as I have time.

Hmm, How about using a TLD like .local and only allow internal mail to be routed? Have the internal mail users send to an internal mailbox like person@yourdomain.local then have Google's POP3 service retrieve the mail into the persons extrrnal Gmail mailbox? Hi,For Exchange 2007, you can do it by using Transport Rule.First Create a Send Connector with the Address space @gmail.com on the Hub Transport server, then create a new rule with the conditions and action as below:Condition: Sent to users inside or outside the organization (outside), Action: silently drop the message, Exception: Except when the message is sent to people(person@gmail.com). Please note: The disadvantage is one email contains several recipients besides personal@gmail.com, the rule will not function.ThanksAllen
