Exchange 2000 transition to Exchange 2007
i am looking to migrate from Exchange 2000 to Exchange 2007 although this may be a somewhat unique scenario which is why i require a little assitance if possible We currently have a Windows 2000 Domain using a single Exchange 2000 Server I am currently setting up a new office for my company completely from scratch with no links or dependancies on the old office. The new environment will be a Windows 2003 Domain with an Exchange 2007 Server. all users on the new Domain will be setup from scratch as the domains, exchange servers and geographical locations are completely independant of eachother i was wondering what the best way to perform this transition would be? 1.) setup a site to site VPN, establish a trust between the two domains and then simply move the mailboxes and connect them to the new user accounts in AD 2.) Backup the existing Exchange 2000 mailboxes only and restore them on the new Exchange 2007 server in the new domain any help or advise would be much apreciatted
