I get the following error when running a domain prep:D:\>setup /PrepareAD /OrganizationName:northern-pharmacyWelcome to Microsoft Exchange Server 2007 Unattended SetupPreparing Exchange SetupNo server roles will be installedPerforming Microsoft Exchange Server Prerequisite Check Organization Checks ......................... FAILED Setup needs to contact the Active Directory schema master but this computeris not in the same Active Directory domain as the schema master (DC=northernpharmacy,DC=com). Setup encountered a problem while validating the state of Active Directory:Exchange organization-level objects have not been created, and setup cannot create them because the local computer is not in the same domain and site as the schema master. Visit http://support.microsoft.com and enter the Error ID to find more information.Exchange Server setup encountered an error.I also get the following error when running the setup inside the child domain. I can ping the primary domain by DNS name but Exchange 07 will not install. Hi, It seems like the issue is caused by the connectivity to schema master. First, please confirm if the current server is in the same domain and the same Active Directory site as the Schema Master. You can refer the following articles to locate at the current schema master. Not in schema master site/domain http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa995868.aspx Meanwhile, the computer where you run this command must be able to contact all domains in the forest on port 389. For more information: How to Prepare Active Directory and Domains http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb125224(EXCHG.80).aspx If the issue persists, please let me know if you have ever transferred schema master role to another DC. Is there any know issues with directory services(just like DNS, LDAP or ect..)? I await your reply, Elvis
