Exchange-specific tabs do not appear in Active Directory user properties
I just installed Exchange Server 2003 on a Windows Server 2003 box with Active Directory already set up. For some reason, when I right-click an Active Directory user and go to Properties, the Exchange-specific tabs (Exchange General, E-mail Addresses, and Exchange Advanced) do not appear. Advice when I google this problem is to install Exchange System Management Tools from the Microsoft Exchange installation CD. I've done this, with no luck.

Hi, you have to click on START select Microsoft Exchange and then click on Active Directory. You have to be able see it after that.Petr Weiner

I clicked Start > All Programs > Microsoft Exchange > Active Directory Users and Computers. Unfortunately, I still couldn't see any Exchange tabs in a user's properties. :(

Did you reboot the server when installation of Ex.2003 finished? Yes. Did you prepare your Active Directory before Exchange installation? Yes, I went through Microsoft's 9 step checklist that had me run Forestprep and Domainprep from the Microsoft Exchange CD.

Check also if you have checked in your AD console ADVANCED in VIEW menu. Did you create a mailbox for this account or not? The accout will not have mailbox until you will create it! To do that to active directory console and do a right click on user account and select Exchange Tasks and follow the wizard. Petr Weiner

I'm using the default Administrator account, and I checked under Administrator AD Properties > Member Of tab, and it says I am a member of "Exchange Admin." Checked Advanced in the View menu. It was unchecked. Right-clicked a user account > Exchange Tasks. It says "Select a task to perform:" The ONLY option listed is "Remove Exchange Attributes."

Try to create test account and add/remove to it exchange mailbox / attributes. We will check that Ex. admin permissions are ok. Petr Weiner

Thanks Petr! Created test user account. Clicked Exchange Tasks > Remove Exchange Attributes. Opened back up that user's Exchange Tasks, and the only option is still "Remove Exchange Attributes." I can't add a mailbox or anything like that.
