Exchang Server 2007 DOWN - Need Assistance ASAP.
SBS 2008/Exchange 2007 OK, everything was working fine until about 7am this morning when the Exchange dismounted. I tried to mount it but it failed. It appears there is a corruption in the database/logs. Here is a sampling what the Event Logs are telling me. MSExchangeIS (2764) First Storage Group: An attempt to write to the file "C:\Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\Mailbox\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database.edb" at offset 19182419968 (0x00000004775c8000) for 8192 (0x00002000) bytes failed after 104 seconds with system error 23 (0x00000017): "Data error (cyclic redundancy check). ". The write operation will fail with error -1022 (0xfffffc02). If this error persists then the file may be damaged and may need to be restored from a previous backup. I have been looking through the steps for an manual in-place and out-of-placee recover via eseutil repair as well as in the Toolbox Database Recovery/Repair Database and I also have good backups but I just want to confirm what steps should be my steps to get us back up and running. The .edb is 76gb on a C: partition with about 39gb free so I want to be careful here. Thanks for any quick assistance and direction! -Richard
