Exch 2007 SP2 x64 Export-Mailbox possible w/ Outlook 2010 x64?
Hi, We are running an Exchange 2007 SP2 server and have a need to export old mailboxes to PST. Unfortunately, that means that a 32bit machine with Outlook and Exchange Management Tools must be used. We have switched all of our computer to 64bit in IT, which means we are no longer able to export to PST. We could keep a dedicated computer setup to export to PST, but that would be a waste. I know that Outlook 2010 comes in a x64 version, will Exchange Management Tools from Exchange 2007 SP2 x64 recognize it and use it? Thanks, ltctech

well i think that 32 bit is prerequisite from Exchange and not of Outlook...it means that if you use Outlook 64 EMC needs to be at 32 bit...CapecolMCSA - MCTS Exchange Server 2007 - 2010Blog: http://capecol.spaces.live.com/default.aspx

Capecol MCSA - MCTS Exchange Server 2007 - 2010 Blog: http://capecol.spaces.live.com/default.aspx That does not actually make sense though. I thought the whole reason that you needed 32bit EMC was because Outlook was 32bit. Generally a 64bit process can not load a 32bit process and vice versa, hence the need for process bitness to match. Following this logic, a 64bit EMC should be able to load 64bit Outlook 2010. The question is though whether there are gotchas in the EMC code that prevent it from happening.

Hello ltctech, I saw your post while searching for answer to the same question. Have you tried using the Export-Mailbox with Outlook 2010 x64? Is it working or not? Cheers, Daniella Slavcheva

Hi all, I confirm, it doesn't work, I try to do it but no success... When you run the command: Export-Mailbox -Identity rfederer -PSTFolderPath E:\PST you obtain: You are running on a 64-bit computer. To export to or import from a .pst file, you must be running a 32-bit computer that has Outlook 2003 SP2 or later installed. At line:1 char:1 + E <<<< xport-Mailbox -Identity rfederer -PSTFolderPath E:\PST
