Excel file saving problem on network

Im saving the file from Win7 to WinXP. Original file at the winxp. Im opening it on network win7 pc.

This issue coming once in a way, after some time when i going to save modified excel file this issue coming, when this happened, network also disconnected & again its searching the path with the GREEN bar.

Pls see the screen shot below,

SORRY, STILL I CANNOT ATTACH SCREEN SHOTS AS MY ACCOUNT NOT VERIFIED YET.

Above 2nd screen shot, you can see the saving window coming & hang up. progress bar not going. When this happened, 1st screen shot, GREEN bar going & searching the network.

My thinking, when I saving the password protected excel file to the WinXP pc from Windows 7 pc, there will be some security issue coming & network also disconnects.
After the searching the network it shows the winxp pc, then I can save the file. But some times again this network searching bar going & after that only I can save.
Im really thinking why sometimes working & sometimes not.

Any experts, Im waiting for a reply regarding my issue above mentioned.

Further explained below my issue,

This problem in saving an excel file on to another pc in the network, which has windows xp. But before I used in both pcs windows xp & that time there were no problem saving on to the other pc.
Now I use windows 7 32bit (Service pack1) in my pc & other pc on network is windows xp. Im doing some thing on Microsoft Excel 2007 (password protected file) in windows7 pc & when I saving to windows xp pc, most of the time saving bar displayed & say document not saved. But that time some TMP (eg: ACE1E11D.tmp) file will be created in windows xp pc in that same folder.
Im opening the excel file from network windows xp pc & im doing the amendments from windows7 pc & saving back to winxp pc.
Original file is at winxp pc. Im opening it from Windows 7 pc.
I have changed the below settings also in the Windows 7 pc. But only some times this problem occurs. Some times I can save smoothly.
I wanted to know why this problem comes only some times.
I must say when I using in both pcs winxp OS nothing happened.
I changed the settings in Windows 7 pc as below,
*Network discovery off
*Enable file sharing for devices that use 40 or 56 bit encryption
Please give me a help how to solve this saving issue.

It might not be excel related at all, can you open a file explorer browser to the same location as where the file will be saved? If you get a login box to confirm your credentials to get to that network resource, then that is the reason, you need to have your credentials verified to save there!

If i can i will upload those screen shots.

Sorry I cannot insert images, still my account not varified

Why above GREEN searching bar going?

Hi,

Based on my research, This behavior can occur under any of the following conditions:

  •          You save an Excel file to a network drive where you have restricted permissions.
  •          You save an Excel file to a location that does not have sufficient drive space.
  •          The connection to the Excel file has been lost.
  •          There is a conflict with an antivirus software program.
  •          You save an Excel file that is shared.
  •          The 218-character path limitation has been exceeded when you save an Excel file.
  •          The Transition Formula Evaluation feature is turned on in Excel.
  •          The file was created from a template that contains embedded objects.

To troubleshoot an Excel save issue, you can refer to the following links:

Hope it helps

Best regards
