On data models...

• Are data models by default connected across workbooks? If so, how are they disconnected? I ask because I see tables appear in Power View or Pivot Tables fields that are not part of the workbook.
• What are the steps to fully delete a data model from a workbook? I ask because sometimes it takes 10 seconds to save a <1MB workbook and wonder if a deleted data model is still in the background.

On resource consumption, my set up is well within the stated limits. However, I have a 15MB Excel file, 4GB RAM (of which Windows Resource Manager reports 2.2GB is being used) and an i5 quad core; yet repeatedly receive out of memory messages and suggestions to use 64-bit Excel. Are there other limits?

What causes the auto save feature to periodically disable for the remainder of a session?
