We have Office 2013 SP1 installed on an RDS 2012 R2 server. Attachment previewers work for every file type except Office files like Excel and Word.

I see solutions for re-installing and changing the registry settings under User Shell Folders, but these do not work for us.

Has anyone else been able to detect and fix this issue?

I suggest you try this method and check if it works fro you.

Click Win+Run- Type dcomcnfg- Component Services.
Expand Component Services- click Computers- then "Right click" on My Computer- go to "properties".
Click on Default Properties tab:
Default Authentication Level: Connect
Default Impersonation Level: Identify

I did see the DCOM solution, but it was already set up that way. I changed them and changed them back and it still does not work.

The OffCAT tool was not able to identify anything that helps, either.

Any other ideas?
