Excel 64x not printing gridlines because of image.
Hello,

A while a go a colleague of mine came to me with a problem.
He just got his 32 bit office 2010 updated to 64 bit and suddenly the gridlines of his excel files were not printing correctly, only a few of them printed randomly.
The files were all templates made in the 32 bit version. After some research it seems that the image in the footer was causing this and no matter what size or filetype the image was the gridlines would still not print.
Also putting the image in the header would cause the same problem.
After a while more colleagues would come to me with the same problem after a fresh install of office 64x.
If i save the file as a new file in the 64-bit version the problem still occurs.
We thought of the problem having to do with the printer driver, so i contacted canon to ask if it was a known issue. They ahd never heard of it.
I tried printing with 3 different driver from the canon site and none would make a change.
Anyone familiar with this problem or might know a solution??

We are using Windows 7 pro 64-bit on all our workstations and everyone with office 64-bit has this problem.
The reason we updated to 64-bit version is because we use a software package that only supports 64-bit office.

Hi,

As per the description, I think the cause is most likely on the printer side, I would suggest you switch to different printer and see if issue persists.

Also, issue happens with 64-bit version of Office, probably an compatibility issue between the Printer driver and the 64 bit Office. Try to swatch to 32 bit of Office, then verify result.

As per Microsoft, they highly recommend 32 bit version of Office, as not all other products/drivers are compatibility with 64 bit of Office.

Hello Aravindhan Battepati,

Thanks for your reply,

I have tested it with multiple printer with different drivers, this didn't solve the problem.
I used the 64 bit and 32 bit drivers for all the printers I used.

If I switch to office 32 bit, it does solve the problem but as I said we need 64 bit for a software package we use that doesn't support 32 bit.
