Excel 2013 can't type in cells
Shoot me now!  2010 worked fine, upgraded to 2013 - (told I couldn't keep the 2010 just in case by Microsoft).  It was working fine for a couple of weeks - able to type into cells and now I can't.  This convoluted typing in the line up above is the only thing I can do.  No scrolling, no copy/paste, argh!!  Read all the so called fixes and none of them work, what is wrong with Excel, please tell me the right way to fix this.

If you go to File>Options>Advanced>Editing options, is there a check mark in the box alongside "Allow editing directly in cells"?

Hi Karen,

Please try the method of Doug Robbins MVP and check if it works for you.

If you issue still exists, please try to rename the XLB file in your computer. XLB is a setting file format created by Microsoft Excel. XLB files contain custom settings for the toolbars (or command bars). These settings can be edited or customized by selecting toolbar from the view options.

Please go to C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Excel, and rename Excel15.xlb to Excel15.xlb.old, restart Excel.

Any updates please let me know, I'm glad to help and follow up your reply.
