Excel 2013 Solver not loading

I recent installed Office 2013 and for some reason the solver add-in is not working. I don't see the solver label in the data tab but I do see the icon. When I click the icon I get an error message that says: "Cannot run the macro 'SOLVER.XLAM!Main.Ex'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled.

I searched online and tried a few of the recommended solutions to no avail. Examples: selecting it under references in VBA, repair office, and reinstalling office.

I have the 64-bit version installed.

Does anyone have any other solutions?

Hi Amir,

Based on your error message >>Cannot run the macro 'SOLVER.XLAM!Main.Ex'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all macros may be disabled. <<, it seems that you disable the Macro in Excel.

First, I suggest you go to File button- Options- Trust Center- Trust Center Settings- Marco Settings, Then select "Enable all macros"

Then, open VBE (Alt+F11)- make sure references are set to SOLVER.XLAM (NOT *.DLL)- show immediate code pane (Ctrl+G)- copy/paste (or write): application.run "solver.xlam!auto_open"

Please try these methods and check if they work for you.

Hope it's helpful.

Hey Emi,

Macros were enabled. I have several sheets with macros and I haven't any issues with them. I also tried resetting the reference for the solver, but when I do that I get another error:

Run-time error '1004': cannot run the macro 'solver.xlam!auto_open'. The macro may not be available in this workbook or all  macros are disabled.
