Excel 2013 : 'run as administrator' has no effect because integratedoffice.exe process kills the process

Hi,

In order to properly install an Excel add-in, i need to start Excel as an administrator. Here is the situation, step by step :

1. Directly right-clicking on Excel.exe then 'run as administrator' has no effect.

2. Starting cmd.exe as administrator then typing 'start excel' has also no effect.

So i decided to use 'procmon' to see what happens and it seems that excel starts well then integratedoffice.exe starts and kills excel process.

Installed office version is displayed as full Office 2013 Pro version (File > Account). I also faced this issue with some Office 2010 installations (both on Win7 or Win8). It seems that it is related to 'click-to-run' mechanism that does not install all Office features locally.

Reinstalling the MSI version after clean uninstall solves the problem but is there any way to make it work without reinstalling Office ?

What is the exact cause of integratedoffice.exe killing the Excel process when launched as an admin ?

Thanks for your answer.
