Excel 2013 - POwer Pivot add-in not available

Hi,

I am employee of Cisco and have installed Professional Plus yesterday.

ID - 00216-40000-00000-aa998

Excel version - 15.0.4719.1000

I believe powerpivot is available as add-in in professional plus. But I can't find that add-in in my excel.

If not, please let me know how can I get it now(free/paid)

If yes, how to get that add-in? I have checked forums. Mostly they refer to delete security key, but I just can't find any power[pivot folder in C drive. so no keys etc to delete.

Hi

Power Pivot is built into Excel 2013, but by default, it's not enabled. Heres how you enable Power Pivot before using it for the first time.
  1. Go to File > Options > Add-Ins.

  2. In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins> Go.

  3. Check the Microsoft Office Power Pivot in Microsoft Excel 2013 box, and then click OK. If you have other versions of the Power Pivot add-in installed, those versions are also listed in the COM Add-ins list. Be sure to select the Power Pivot add-in for Excel.

Hi,

I have tried all these things provided on Microsoft website

1. This add-in is not shown when I go to Options

2. There is another way given where we have to go start->run->regedit. Even there, I couldn't find those 2 keys mentioned on Microsoft website. So I have no keys to delete.

3. When I tried to search for power Pivot folder in C drive, there wasn't any folder.

4. I downloaded this tool as well, but am not sure how it will solve my Power Pivot problem.

As per my understanding, it might be due to older update version of Office 2013 provided on our office library. Do I need to manually install all further updates?

Thanks a lot for your help. Appreciate if you can clarify my doubts.

Regards,

Prathmesh

Hi Prathmesh_khare,

Based on your reply, it seems that you cant find Power Pivot add-in in COM add-in.

You said youre the employee of Cisco, maybe your version of office is ProPlus E1 which dont support this add-in. Please check the version of Excel 2013 you are using now, if Power Pivot is supported in your version of excel. Please go to File- Account, as shown in the following figure.

These add-ins and the Inquire add-in all require specific SKUs of Microsoft Office 2013. They are available on:

  • Microsoft Office 2013 Professional Plus
  • Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus available as a standalone subscription.
  • Microsoft Office 365 ProPlus available as part of the Office 365 Enterprise E3, Office 365 Enterprise E4, Office 365 Education E2, Office 365 Education E3, Office 365 Government E3, or Office 365 Government E4 offerings.
  • Microsoft Excel 2013 standalone with the following update http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2817425

If your version of excel support Power Pivot add-in, this issue might be occurred the registry keys that provide the add-in information to the Add-in Manager are damaged or set to invalid values. See More Information for the Office 2013 SKUs that contain these add-ins.

To work around this issue is to delete the affected registry keys. Microsoft Office PowerPivot for Excel 2013 add-in corresponds to the following registry keys, respectively:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\User Settings\PowerPivotExcelAddin
  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\Excel\Addins\PowerPivotExcelClientAddIn.NativeEntry.1

Please refer to following article to get more information.

Hope its helpful.
