Is it possible to disable protected view for files from a specific internet URL? I know that protected view can be disabled for ALL files originating from the internet in the Trust Center>Protected View settings.

Basically, I want to be able to add a URL as a trusted location or something like that. I tried adding the URL as a trusted site in Internet Options, but files still open in protected view.

Any insight or suggestions would be appreciated.

Go to regedit and add this key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\15.0\Excel\Security\FileValidation with EnableOnLoad=dword:00000000
