Excel 2013, user can't run macros, other users on same computer CAN run macros

Hi i have a customer who has made an Excel spreadsheet with macros, the problem is that some users can't run the macros, if we give the user a new Windows profile on the computer in question all works fine, but now one user that has had a new user profile on her computer is experiencing the problem again, we can't continue to give users new user profiles everytime this happens, does anyone know of a solution.

Here is an example or better explanation of the problem, (User A) has a problem running Excel macros on (Computer A), (User B) can log on to (Computer A) and run macros, if (User A) gets a new Windows user profile on (Computer A) the user can run macros again.

Hope some can help.

Best regards

Richard

Hi Richard

According to your description, this issue might be due to several factors. Thus, please try check them and narrow down this issue.

1) Did user A get some error messages when ran the macros? If there are some alert messages, it would be helpful for us, please upload here.

2) Did user A's account have administrator permission? If no, please assign the administrator permission to user A, because some macros need to connect the root directory of Windows system.

3) Make sure user A has enable the security settings for VBA macros. Path: File/Option/advanced/trust center/macros.

Hope it's helpful.

Hi George

Thanks for your quick reply.

1) No the user does not get any error or warning when opening the spreadsheet, and no error or warning when the user tries to use the macros

2) The user is local administrator on the computer

3) The stettings for VBA macros are the same on both users which kan use the macros and users that can't (i have attached a picture of the settings, even though the text is in Danish i hope you can manage)

Any thoughts on how to move forward.

Regards

Richard

Hi Richard,

As far as I know, if we select "Disable all macros with notification" option. Macros are disabled, but security alerts appear if there are macros present. we can enable macros on a case-by-case basis.

Was the security alerts pop-up when user A ran the macros?

Then, please try to select the "Enable all macros (not recommended, potentially dangerous code can run) " option to test.
