Excel: Insert cut/copied rows or columns option greyed out
I'm using Excel 2010 and when I right-click on a  row or column, the Insert/Insert cut/copied row/column context specific  options are greyed out. The options work when I open excel in safe mode.

This happens in all workbooks, including brand new ones. I've looked through the Excel Options but can't find anything.

Any ideas?

If it works when you start Excel in Safe Mode, the most likely culprit is an add-in.

You can enable / disable add-ins in File > Options > Add-Ins. Select either Excel Add-ins or COM Add-ins fr4om the Manage dropdown, then click Go...

One approach is to disable add-ins one by one until the problem disappears. The last one to be disabled causes the problem, other add-ins can be enabled again.

Another approach is to disable ALL add-ins, then enable them one by one until the problem crops up again. The last one to be enabled is the cause of the problem; disable that one again and enable the others.

Hi Saqib2504,

I agree with Hans, this issue is usually caused by some add-ins, please check them one by one. Then, you also try this method:

Renamed this registry key, then reboot Excel that it restored default settings

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Excel\Options

Note: Backup the key before modify.
