Excahnge 2013 AD preparation fails, The administrative limit for this request was exceeded.
I'm trying to introduce Exchange 2013 into my existing Exchange 2010 organization. Schema preparation ran fine, but AD Preparation is failing with "The administrative limit for this request was exceeded". I figured out that it is related to "otherWellKnownObjects" attribute under "Services/Microsoft Exchange". Apparently this attribute can hold on 11 records about security groups instead of 17. Looks like it might be related to attribute size. Is there a way to extend this attribute size? Thanks. Regards, Mindaugas Laucius

Hi Mindaugas, Could you please copy and past the exact error from ExchangeSetupLog? It would help us better understand the issue you are encountering. Besides, please provide more information about your environment: 1. Are you running AD preparation from a DC or a member server? 2. Is it a single domain or subdomain? 3. Is there any error messages recorded in application event log? Thanks. Fiona Liao TechNet Community Support

Hey, Thank you for your attention. I figured out the issue. It was not related to Exchange 2013 installation. Coincidentally "Microsoft Exchange" ran into some sort of multivalued attribute limit. I have many, many GALs in this environment, so Exchange setup was not able to add required data into "Microsoft Exchange" attributes. I deleted some GALs and I was able to complete setup. I'll have to look into how to extent this multivalued attribute limit going forward...Regards, Mindaugas Laucius
