ExMerge cannot read mailbox
I'm running Exchange 2003 on a Windows 2000 server. I'm trying to use ExMerge to extract data from a mailbox. I believe that I have followed the instructions in http://support.microsoft.com/kb/292509. I'm runing ExMerge on the Windows 2000 server itself. I have administrator rights. I have created a security group, 'ExMerge', and added myself to it. I have given the 'ExMerge' group Exchange View Only Administrator rights to the Exchange server. I have given the 'ExMerge' group Full Control acess to the mailbox store. When I try to extract the contents of a mailbox, I get the following information in the ExMerge log file: **************************************************************** Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Merge Program, v6.5.7529.0 Start Logging:November 29, 2010 11:23:49 **************************************************************** [11:23:49] Logging Level: None [11:23:49] Reading settings from file 'C:\Documents and Settings\ct\My Documents\Downloads\Exmerge\Exmerge\EXMERGE.INI'. Hi, You need to set send as and receive as rights on the mailbox database for it to work. /MartinExchange is a passion not just a collaboration software.

The group 'ExMerge' has Full Control on the mailbox; that should include Send As and Receive As./Claus

Hi oz1cz, Any updates on this issue? Agree with Martin, whether “send as” and “receive as” are included in “full control” is not the same on different version of Exchange Server. So if you have not set the “send as” and “receive as” rights, please set these rights to have a try. The error “0x8004011d”, please follow this document to troubleshoot the problem: Troubleshooting ExMerge Issues http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124178(EXCHG.65).aspx The error “Copy process aborted for mailbox” please refer to the following document: ExMerge Does Not Work Unless You Have Receive As and Send As Permissions on the Store http://support.microsoft.com/kb/273642 If the problem persists, please feel free to let me know. Aplogies for not coming back before. Send As and Receive As are set in the permissions. Apparently that is not the problem. However, due to an intense workload with other problems, I cannot proceed with this issue now. I am therefore unsure how to close this thread, since I cannot check up on this in the forseeable future. Please advise. Thank you all for your efforts./Claus
